Late summer colour

A few days ago as I was driving around I noticed the trees are already colouring up.
Summer seems to be over, if indeed we ever had one this year. But like the trees maybe we should celebrate this change of season with a little late summer colour.

 

A short colourful skirt paired with leggings and a matching scarf will do it.

 

Or add a colourful purse or bag to the mix.

 

A longer skirt, and some chunky jewellery with or without the leggings.

 

Or take a favorite summer dress and add an infinity scarf worn here as a bolero to keep the cooler temperatures at bay.

 

A colourful cardigan jacket on a plain summer dress is also a great way to add a shot of colour.

 

A shawl over a summer dress helps keep you warm and is a good opportunity to add a little colour to this change of seasons.

Summer maybe over, but lets follow the example nature is showing us and celebrate the change of season with a last blast of colour.

 

Good enough for a wedding

Last weekend our niece got married.
There was never any question where I would get my dress from. However as the date drew nearer and the weather forecast got worse, I did have to rethink a few things.

 

 

The strappy dress from Bwana Johns was a little bare for the weather on its own, but a pashmina shawl kept me warm. The small Nepal bag was the perfect size for the bits and pieces I needed for the event. The Bwana looks dashing in his Panama hat.

 

 

Of course the bride looked beautiful and soon made us forget that the weather was so dreadful.

 

Head wrap ideas

A great way to deal with hair that has maybe seen a little too much sun and wind this summer, and is decidedly not at its sleekest is to take a great scarf and wrap it around your tresses.

New Fall arrivals

I know, summer seems to have just started, at least as far as the weather is concerned. It seems like this long weekend is the first hot weather we've had this year.
But we just unpacked the first of our fall clothes. these just in from Nepal. It was a little bit like Christmas.
